FIRE RESTRICTION is issued for the County of Two Hills. Fire hazard conditions remain high. You may have been directed to this information page by a fire restriction message from the Two Hills County website home page. The restriction date will be on that home page message.

This FIRE RESTRICTION is in effect for all rural areas in the County of Two Hills, including Hamlets.

This Fire Restriction:

  1. PROHIBITS the issuance of fire permits and the discharge of fireworks;
  2. RESCINDS all previously approved fire permits and fireworks discharge permits; and,
  3. ALLOWS contained fire pits with non-combustible material, as well as charcoal briquette barbecues, propane/gas barbecue, and propane/gas fire pits for the purpose of heating or cooking provided that the same are CSA approved or UL certified. Fires must be supervised and extinguished before leaving unattended.

This FIRE RESTRICTION will continue until further notice. Fire Restrictions can escalate into Fire Bans with little notice, therefore please visit www.albertafirebans.ca or www.thcounty.ab.a for updates.

A person who wilfully sets an open fire, or any fire not allowed under this order, may be charged under the Forest and Prairie Protection Act. If the person is the owner or occupant of the land on which the fire is set, those costs may be recovered by placing the costs on the tax roll and recovering them in the same manner as taxes.

Fire Permits are REQUIRED on a YEAR ROUND BASIS for all types of Open Burning. Burning shall be done in compliance with the Forest and Prairie Fire Protection Act and Bylaw No. 3-2001 Fire Protection. Fire permits are subject to Fire Advisory and any further imposed conditions. Fire permits are issued for 10 days at a time.
