**NOTICE**
Effective 3:00PM, Wednesday September 04, 2024, The County of Two Hills has downgraded to a FIRE ADVISORY.
Under the Fire Advisory, fire permits will only be issued at the discretion of a fire guardian.
What is allowed
- Safe wood campfires within designated fire rings
- Backyard fire pits and burn barrels on private land
- BBQs and smokers that use solid fuels (wood chips or pellets, charcoal briquettes, etc.)
- Propane, Natural Gas, or electrically powered cooking, heating, and lighting appliances
- Open flame oil devices (turkey deep fryers, tiki torches)
- Indoor wood fires contained within a device equipped with a chimney and spark arrestor
- Pellet-fueled appliances

What is not allowed
Brush piles or larger fires will not be allowed to burn during the advisory.
Burning or lighting a fire during a Fire Advisory contrary to what is allowed is illegal, and fines or cost of response could apply. A person who willfully sets an open fire, or any fire not allowed under this order, may be charged under the Forest and Prairie Protection Act. If the person is the owner or occupant of the land on which the fire is set, those costs may be recovered by placing the costs on the tax roll and recovering them in the same manner as taxes.
